The Excelsior Springs Public Safety Sales Tax Oversight Committee has a new member.

On June 21 at the Hall of Waters, the City Council approved Mayor Sharon Powell’s appointment of Bill Westerheide to relieve Mark Spohn. As Powell mentioned before the vote, when Spohn was elected to the council, “he had to vacate his position on” the committee.

“I know you’ll be missed, Mark, but Bill Westerheide has agreed to take your spot,” she told Spohn.

Westerheide’s term expires in September 2023, as stated in City Manager Molly McGovern’s June 16 memo to city leaders.
