Council delays marijuana drive-through proposal
Excelsior Springs City Council members recently tabled a zoning amendment, which would have allowed drive-through services at marijuana dispensaries.The proposal drew public comment during the visitors’ portion of the meeting, where two speakers urged council members not to move forward with the amendment.Kaylee Halfhill, a junior at Excelsior Springs High School, addressed the council first and voiced opposition to the ordinance.“I will make my stance very clear: We cannot allow this ordinance,” said Halfhill. “A government’s number one responsibility is to protect its citizens.
