Council fills vacancies on board
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Planning and Zoning Board has filled two vacancies.
On June 21, the City Council approved the appointments of Sandy Barnes and Dustin Borchert. Barnes and Borchert fill seats left by Mark Bullimore and Kenny Manley, respectively. Both appointments expire Sept. 30, memos from City Manager Molly McGovern to city leaders state.
Borchert took the oath during the council meeting. Barnes was absent.
Barnes is a returning board member, Mayor Sharon Powell told city leaders.
“She had to leave during our audit because she is an auditor for (the) IRS,” Powell said. “And so, she couldn’t be involved with us while we were being audited. But now that we’re free and clear, she’s excited to be coming back.”...
