County strikes a win in war against fentanyl

In a months-long investigation, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Operations Squad and Drug Trafficking Force have charged two people associated with fentanyl trafficking in Avondale. According to a recent press release from the county, Garrett Moulder, 38, has been charged with two counts of drug trafficking, unlawful use of a weapon and theft of a firearm. Likewise, Elizabeth Dye, 31, has been charged with one count of drug trafficking and one count of drug possession. After the warrant was issued for both properties, located at 2703 N. Bellefontaine and 2701 N. Walrond, the Special Tactics and Response (STAR) team found more than 105 grams of fentanyl inside the residences, enough to kill 52,200 people, according to authorities. Other items discovered in the search included paraphernalia for packaging and distributing the drugs, methamphetamine, cocaine, five firearms and three suppressors.
