Firearm discovery at ESHS
Excelsior Springs School District officials are providing additional details after a firearm was discovered at Excelsior Springs High School, left in a backpack brought onto campus by an adult spectator during a recent wrestling tournament.Assistant Superintendent Scott Guilkey explained the backpack was left following a wrestling tournament held at the high school on Dec. 13. The adult spectator who brought the backpack onto campus was from a visiting school district.An Excelsior Springs staff member discovered the unattended backpack the morning after the event and immediately reported it to the school resource officer.
