District implements 90-day academic plan

Following the release of the Annual Performance Report (APR) results in November 2025, the Excelsior Springs School District has begun implementing a structured 90day academic plan to strengthen assessment practices and accelerate student growth before spring testing.The district earned 69.5% on its 2025 APR, prompting administrators to examine areas of academic growth and develop targeted action steps in response to the data.Assistant Superintendent of Academic Services Dr. Melissa Miller recently told board members the plan was developed after administrators reviewed the district’s performance data and calculated the time remaining before students begin End-of-Course (EOC) and Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) testing this spring. With roughly 130 instructional days between the report and testing season, Miller noted district leaders moved quickly to outline immediate action steps while continuing longerterm instructional work already underway....
