EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A district employee contracted the coronavirus, Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson told school board members last week. “We’ve already had one positive case in our district, an employee, and that employee is recovering, getting better, I’m happy to report,” Tomlinson said. “There were a couple of other people (who) have been deemed to be high risk.” The district also has experienced situations where people only seemed to have the virus, Tomlinson said. “We’ve also had a person that was suspected of having it and went and got tested, and came back negative,” he said. “So, we’ve had to go through a person leaving with it and a person actually being negative.
