District worker contracts virus

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A district employee contracted the coronavirus, Deputy Superintendent Jaret Tomlinson told school board members last week. “We’ve already had one positive case in our district, an employee, and that employee is recovering, getting better, I’m happy to report,” Tomlinson said. “There were a couple of other people (who) have been deemed to be high risk.” The district also has experienced situations where people only seemed to have the virus, Tomlinson said. “We’ve also had a person that was suspected of having it and went and got tested, and came back negative,” he said. “So, we’ve had to go through a person leaving with it and a person actually being negative. And then, getting them back to work and seeing how this process worked – it’s complicated.” Every case is different, Tomlinson said. “We’re trying to come up with some consistent approach that treats people fairly,” he said, adding, “We’re going to get better as we have more of a sample size, but it really was…
