The first trinkling of ink into this girl’s veins started when I became a freelance writer for The Excelsior Springs Standard and Richmond News in 2021. More recently, however, I was brought on full time and am serving as an advertising consultant. That job allows me to put my customer service skills to work by helping business owners create an advertising message that works best for them. Once it is decided what message they want to share, everything goes back to our graphic designer, who creates an eyecatching advertisement for placement in our newspaper or one of our many specialty products. Plus, I can also help them spread their good news in other fashions, such as on our website, Facebook or through sponsoring one of our podcasts.
