Elkhorn Elementary leaders recently shared an update highlighting student growth, classroom learning and the daily work shaping the school’s culture.Elkhorn Elementary Principal Dr. Jennifer Harris told board members the update focused on several areas, including curriculum work, assessment practices, effective teaching strategies and the overall school climate.“This year, we have spent quite a bit of time really focusing on our written curriculum and making sure teachers are unpacking the skills and the standards students really need to know and be able to do to be successful,” said Harris.She noted teachers have used professional development time to examine standards more closely and align instruction with expectations across grade levels.
