Nominations are open for the Excelsior Springs Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors positions until Friday, Feb 2. Four candidates have been nominated thus far: Melissa Bartlett, Courtney Cole, Kristen De-Hart, and Bill Westerheide. Once elected, the new board members will take their seat in April and serve a three-year term. According to the chamber, bylaw revisions in November included dropping the number of board members to 12, resulting in an election of four candidates per year, with each holding a three-year term. Those interested in becoming a candidate must be an active member, remain in good standing with the chamber and agree to accept the responsibility of directorship. To file for candidacy, one must submit a petition request along with five signatures of support from qualified members.
