The Excelsior Springs School Board is addressing concerned parents regarding school safety, bullying protocols, and other school-related business handling. Jake Smith, an area resident, addressed the board at its last meeting, stating concerns regarding an event when a student brought unloaded firearms to school. He said he was seeking clarification and information about a problem that seemed to just disappear. “From my understanding, the information I have been told was that the student received a one-year suspension or expulsion,” Smith told school board members. “I don’t see how that can be rationalized.
