Excelsior Estates audit reveals misconduct
The Missouri State Auditor’s Office (MSAO) has released a report revealing misconduct following an audit of the City of Excelsior Estates.The audit was initiated in response to a whistleblower complaint and revealed $37,000 in improper payments. Additionally, it uncovered more than $200,000 in questionable payments to a business associated with Gary Fesenmeyer Sr., former Excelsior Estates mayor, according to MSAO. Official charges have not yet been accepted and/or released to the media.Upon their arrival, officials from MSAO were confronted with a grim scene as they commenced their audit of the City of Excelsior Estates.
