Excelsior School District OKs increases in salaries

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – School district personnel will receive bigger paychecks in 2021-2022. During its March meeting, the school board approved the district’s salary schedules for next school year, as recommended by Superintendent Dan Hoehn. As district documents indicate, the schedules include base salary increases. The Step 1 base salary for an assistant superintendent, for example, is $99,800 per year, up from $91,070 this year. Other increases include the Step 1 base salary for certified personnel, set at $37,500 – up from $36,000, as Hoehn told district leaders. “These salary scales are sustainable,” Hoehn said. “I think it makes the district more competitive. Certainly, I think our staff and ‘admin’ team, they deserve it – our classified staff, every one of those latchkey workers. Certainly, everybody needs a bump.
