EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The police department is getting a new animal control vehicle. On Dec. 20, the City Council approved police Sgt.

On Dec. 20, the City Council approved police Sgt. Jeremiah Renne’s request for the department to buy a 2022 Ford F250 truck from an Olathe, Kansas, dealership. Per Renne’s Dec. 13 memo to city leaders and his verbal reiteration, public safety sales tax funds will pay for the truck, with the price cap set at $34,958.

The truck is being bought through a Mid-America Council of Public Purchasing program and will arrive in four to six weeks, Renne said.
