Excelsior Springs elementary schools are welcoming October with a full calendar of activities, from science exploration and literacy nights to football events and fall parties. Across Lewis, Cornerstone and Elkhorn, administrators are emphasizing student growth, family engagement and the importance of daily attendance.At Lewis Elementary, Principal Dr. Jill Comstock noted the year is off to a strong start. “October is sure to be a great month at Lewis,” said Comstock. “The building has been buzzing with excitement as we learn and enjoy our time together.”Lewis has launched a focus on vocabulary development to strengthen language across all subjects. Each week, students are introduced to a Word of the Week and families are encouraged to ask about it at home.
