As November begins, Excelsior Springs residents are being encouraged to keep the connections formed during summer block parties alive by gathering again – this time around the dinner table.Neighborhood Specialist Laura Mize is inviting the community to take part in the “Friendsgiving with Neighbors” initiative, which promotes gratitude, fellowship and friendship while helping combat loneliness and isolation.“I wanted to keep the great momentum from the Mayor’s Block Party Challenge going strong,” explained Mize. “Residents responded so enthusiastically to the block party challenge and my hope is that they will want to continue meeting with their neighbors even though block party season is kind of over.”The concept is simple but meaningful.
