CORNERSTONE ELEMENTARY: Jessica Broadbent, Cornerstone Elementary School’s new principal, has been a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal. She has been with the Excelsior Springs School District for 13 years and said the city has a supportive community with amazing kids. “Our community rallies around us and supports everything we do,” Broadbent said. “I’m excited to move into this new role and highlight all the great things we don’t always see from the outside.” Her plan for this school year is to leave the district in a better place than when she came on board as principal. “I want to be a constant nudge of trying to progress and lean into new opportunities because that’s when growth happens,” she said. Broadbent looks forward to the 2023-2024 school year with a mission of having more growth within the school district.
