Excelsior Springs schools are setting a clear course for maintaining safe, reliable learning spaces through an extensive Facilities and Grounds Maintenance program, with the Board of Education giving unanimous approval to the annual evaluation. The vote came during the September meeting, where members also reviewed the district’s Food Service Program, which passed with one dissent.The Facilities and Grounds Maintenance Program Evaluation explained the department helps keep school buildings and grounds “safe, clean and in good working condition.”The review stated the work also supports the district’s budget and leadership goals by preventing expensive emergency repairs, extending the life of buildings and equipment, meeting safety and accessibility rules, and keeping schools “looking clean and professional.”According to the evaluation, more than 2,600 work orders were completed over the past year.
