RICHMOND – There is competition for some municipal elections in April for Excelsior Springs and Ray County, but most candidates are running unopposed. This information covers only the contested races. 911 BOARD There will be competition for Ray County 911 Board seats. Board Chairman Paul Harris is challenged by Phil Powers for the chairmanship. There are three people running for an Eastern District seat – Jimmy Carter, Perry Vandiver and James Pelis. Two people are running uncontested for Western District seats – Matt Nolker and Richard Nolker. EXCELSIOR SPRINGS CITY Three candidates – Brent McElwee, Mark Spohn and Sharon Donat – seek one seat. EXCELSIOR SPRINGS SCHOOLS Three candidates – Charles “Tray” Harkins III, Kalyn Lace Goode and Joshua Lee Brown – seek two seats.
