Candidates for the Excelsior Springs School District (ESSD) board have shared their view on hot topics in the race for open seats. Voters will choose three of the five candidates — Jill Evert, incumbent Kenny Manley, incumbent Darren McKown and Andrew Starkebaum — in the April 4 election. The candidates recently answered The Excelsior Springs Standard’s questions about issues and philosophies affecting the Excelsior Springs School District. McKown did not respond to the questionnaire. BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Excelsior Springs Standard asked each candidate to list their age, address, marital status, number of children, highest grade completed, employer and relevant political experience.
