The 11th annual School Rocks Backpack Giveaway will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 30, with 120,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies. Locations for the giveaway include Verizon Wireless retail stores in Excelsior Springs and Kearny. Each backpacks — filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, a ruler and glue — will be given away on a firstcome, first-serve basis and only one backpack is allowed per child present, while supplies last. Round Room LLC., the largest Verizon authorized retailer recently announced their TCC and Wireless Zone retailers would be donating the backpacks.
