‘Good Samaritan’ aids Good Samaritan Center
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Connie Othic began volunteering in 1995 for the Good Samaritan Center.
“She is one of our first volunteers and is still at Broadway Bargains today. We are extremely grateful for her service,” center information states.
Othic has been married for 53 years. She has three adult children and four granddaughters. They live just outside of Holt.
Every Wednesday, Othic continues to participate in what she considers a massive treasure hunt at the thrift store.
“It was that or stay at home and listen to sports on the television,” center information states.
Othic has a history of volunteer work, beginning with joining the Peace Corps before working as a veterinary assistant for 18 years, the job from which she retired.
Othic used to break the horses that her dad bought in South Dakota. She also owned a beauty shop for years.
