The Excelsior Springs Area Cultural Guild is preparing for its annual Saturday Night Murder Mystery Dinner Theater and Sunday Afternoon Murder Mystery Matinee. Tickets are on sale for this event. The dinner theater will be held on Feb. 18, followed by the matinee on Sunday, Feb. 19. Both events will be held at The Montgomery Event Venue in Excelsior Springs. Proceeds will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors from Lawson, Onick, Excelsior Springs, and Richmond who will major in the arts in college. Each scholar·ship is $1,000. The “arts” may include any of the fine arts, such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and such; music in all forms; graphic design; film work, such as directing or acting and production, design. Halloween will be thisyear’s theme and everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite costume, although it’s not mandatory.
