Guilty plea accepted in 2024 ES pursuit case
A Kansas City man was recently sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty in a felony case stemming from a pursuit through Excelsior Springs in 2024.Jimmie L. Chapman, 49, pled guilty to a felony charge of resisting arrest, detention or stop, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death to any person.Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge David Chamberlin accepted Chapman’s guilty plea. A sentencing assessment report was waived by both Chapman and the state, and at the joint request of both parties, the court proceeded immediately to sentencing under a joint recommendation. Chapman was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.In addition to the prison sentence, Chapman was ordered to pay judgment costs of $46.
