Haslett heads back to court
Due to possible technical and procedural issues with an impaneled grand jury, the case of Timothy Haslett, accused of rape and eight other offenses, is headed back to the Clay County Grand Jury at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 22.
“The Clay County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has become aware of a technical and procedural issue with the Grand Jury that was impaneled from November, 2022 until March, 2023,” said Clay County Prosecuting Attorney Zachry Thompson. “While it is not believed that this issue presents any prejudice or violation of defendants’ constitutional rights, we have decided out of an abundance of caution to take proactive steps to cure all indictments that were issued during that period of time. These steps included resubmitting a number of cases March 15 to a new Grand Jury that has been impaneled by the Court.
