Investigation continues into allegations of abuse by teacher

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Excelsior Springs School District continues to review allegations that a teacher may have abused a student, the district’s deputy superintendent, Dr. Jaret Tomlinson, said Monday. The teacher, now on leave, allegedly sprayed a 10-year-old with apple cider vinegar and restrained the student, based on published reports. “I’m aware that allegation was made, but we’re currently investigating to see if there’s anything to that or not,” Tomlinson said. The district received notice of the al legations April 11. “We want to see what’s really going on,” Tomlinson said. “I’m just not far enough into it to really have any answers.” The district is working in cooperation with the Children’s Division, Missouri Department of Social Services, to investigate the allegations. ...
