Job Corps gets ready to restart enrollment
EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The U.S. Department of Labor announced the reopening of new student enrollment, including for Excelsior Springs, for in-person instruction and job training at the nation’s Job Corps centers.
What this announcement means for Excelsior Springs is unclear.
A response of, essentially, “we don’t know” came from the Excelsior Springs facility with an assurance that when they knew more, the information would be related to the community.
People from area communities, mostly ages 16-24, including in Ray and Clay counties, train at the Excelsior Springs facility.
The student enrollment announcement came at the Potomac Job Corps Center in Washington, where Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh met students and recognized how centers have adapted as the nation combats the pandemic.
