K9 Argos gets new vest
Clay County Sheriff’s Office K9 Argos is anticipating the arrival of a bullet- and stab-proof vest, thanks to Vested Interest in K9s Inc.
Argos, who joined the Clay County Sheriff’s Office in Sept. 2022, is patiently waiting for his new embroidered vest, which is expected to arrive in less than 10 weeks. Argos serves the department alongside Deputy Zack Petty.
Established in 2009, the non-profit organizations’ mission is to provide K9s of law enforcement with protective vests and to assist dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
The potential life-saving vests for K9 officers come custom-fitted and National Institute of Justice certified.
Vested Interest in K9s has provided over 5,043 vests to K9s in all 50 states with a $6.9 million value, all are made possible by private and corporate donations.
