Lane has a passion for caregivers
Updates on the Early Childhood Center’s preschool program, along with the program aiding grandparents caring for grandchildren, were recently shared.
Chelsea Lane, family advocate and first steps therapist, began working at the Early Childhood Center six years ago.
There are currently 180 three- and four-year-olds enrolled in the pre-school center, a huge increase from the 50 children who attended when Lane’s journey first began.
There are two children’s programs at the center, one of which is a half-day program.
“The HeadStart program targets high risk youth and families in our community and supports children’s medical and mental health needs,” she said.
“We also offer special education services,” she said. “Children are able to receive speech, language, occupational, physical and cognitive therapy while they are at school.”
