Latest catch-and-keep trout season gets underway

Missouri catch-andkeep trout season is here again. Per state regulations, the season opens Friday. It closes Oct. 31. As the Missouri Department of Conversation stated Tuesday in a news release, fishing licenses are required for Missourians ages 16-64 and outof- state residents ages 16 and older to fish for trout, along with daily trout tags. A 12-month license is $13. Daily licenses are $8. Trout tags are $4 for adults and $3 for ages 15 and younger. Trout tags are available at the Roaring River, Bennett Spring and Montauk state parks. Anglers may catch up to four trout per day, the Department of Conservation stated. The department also advised that trout anglers may not wear hip waders, boots or shoes “with porous soles of felt, matted or woven fibrous material” in any trout park, buffer area or trout stream; or at Lake Taneycomo, a human- created lake located near the Missouri-Arkansas border.
