Local hospital seeing business growth
The Excelsior Springs Hospital Board recently gathered to discuss the continuous growth of the facility, as well as other business matters.
The hospital has seen exponential growth with an increase in 2,500 patients between 2020-2022 in the Emergency Room Department (ER) and has experienced an influx in pediatric patients for rehab services and psychiatric care.
The rehab department is seeing more pediatric patients and “it’s booming,” said Chief Nursing Officer Sarah Gonzalez.
As the pediatrics department continues to expand, the hospital received $350,000 from the Clay County Children Services Fund to be used for pediatric psychiatric services.
“Within two and half months of hiring trained specialists, the hospital has served their 100th child in the Clay County area,” said Lisa Fielder, director of medical, surgical and ER department.
