A local man was transported to a local area hospital after suffering minor injuries from a two-vehicle accident. The Excelsior Springs Fire and Police departments responded to the 10:44 a.m. March 29 call regarding a motor vehicle accident. After arriving on the scene at the intersection of 69 Hwy and Vintage Dr., it was determined one side of the highway needed to be shut down to allow personnel to tend to any injuries. Cole Norman, who was involved in the accident, stated, “I have no injuries but I did run the red light and collided with the other vehicle.” Norman was issued citations for driving while suspended and failure to obey a traffic signal, according to The Excelsior Springs Police Department. Riteway Tow Service arrived on the scene to remove the vehicles, allowing the roadway to reopen. No further information was available as of press time.
