Local man pleads not guilty, weapons charge
An Excelsior Springs man has entered a not guilty plea for unlawful use of a loaded weapon while intoxicated, a felony.Justin M. Clock, 20, recently appeared before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Karen L. Krauser, where he entered a not-guilty plea and entered a waiver to forgo his right to a preliminary hearing.He will next appear at 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 5 before Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Shane T. Alexander.According to the complaint filed by Clay County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Matthew W. Martling, the range of punishment for this class E felony is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term not less than one year and not to exceed four years; or by imprisonment for a special term not to exceed one year in the county jail or other authorized penal institution; or by a fine not to exceed $10,000; or by both imprisonment and a fine....
