Theatrical dance is a mixture of theater and dances paired with a graceful essence. The Spring Festival of Dance, sponsored by the Missouri Arts Council, is coming to the Excelsior Springs Performing Arts Center June 9-10. The performance includes an entire cast of professional talent with Ballet North’s youth company and features guests from Kansas City Ballet. The Missouri Arts Council’s mission is to support the arts, to enhance culture, education and economic vitality, providing funding through grant opportunities. Ballet North and the Missouri Arts Council work together to perform for communities such as Excelsior Springs and surrounding areas. Created in 1977, Ballet North has operated in the northland since 1992 and became a non-profit organization in 1994.
