Local sex offender charged with failing to register
An Excelsior Estates man has been released after allegedly failing to register his vehicle with the sex offender registry.
Daniel E. Clark, 63, has been charged with one class D felony through Ray County Court of failing to register as a sex offender, underlying offense an unclassified felony, A or B felony, or felony involving a child under the age of 14.
The Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) arrested Clark on March 11 after a no-bond-allowed warrant was issued. He later entered a not-guilty plea before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Lori J. Baskins.
Judge Baskins granted the requested bond modification and released Clark on his own recognizance.
According to the probable cause statement, RCSO Detective Joshua Hamner
was advised that Clark, a tier three sex offender, was driving a vehicle with an unregistered vehicle registration number (VIN) and both phone numbers previously registered were not in working condition.
