EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – Mid-Continent Public Library has resumed limited in-branch services. “We know our customers are eager for the library to resume all services and for things to return to ‘normal,’ and we too are ready to move past these challenging times. However, the health and safety of our staff and customers remains our highest priority, as it has been for the past several months. The high positive test rate has been a great concern to us and to public health officials. The library is a place where folks come in and spend extended periods of time. This presents challenges when the guidance has been to limit exposure to one another. Compounding the issue are staffing challenges we’ve had over the past few months with outbreaks of COVID-19 creating shortages and building closures. It is important to note that all library materials are still accessible via curbside pickup as well. But getting people back in the shelves amongst the books they love is one of our primary goals,”…
