The district has an estimated 25 substitutes, Tomlinson said. On average, the district needs between 12 and 15 a day, Monday-Thursday, and needs between 25 and 35 substitutes on Fridays, he said.
“And all 25 don’t accept the job every time either,” Tomlinson said. “So we’re short. So we have unfilled substitute spots every day – and especially every Friday.”
The lack of subs is “putting a strain on us,” Tomlinson said.
