Mosby delays vote amid backlash

During yet another tense meeting, Mosby city officials chose to delay the vote on a proposed annexation of property for mining operations. The recent meeting of the Mosby Board of Aldermen was filled with public testimony regarding sinkholes, road damage and blasting concerns.Officials said they were still in the process of collecting information and agreed unanimously to table the matter. The aldermen noted the matter may not be brought to a vote next month either and have not disclosed when the matter will be brought to a vote.The annexation request involves a portion of land owned by David Rhodus which would enable Ideker Mining LLC to extend its underground limestone mining operation. The project has drawn intense opposition from residents along Cameron Road and surrounding areas, who say blasting, dust and traffic have worsened in recent years.
