Museum exhibit preserves Vietnam era stories

Editor’s note: This is the first of a two-part series on the Excelsior Springs Museum & Archives’ “Not Forgotten” exhibit. Part One explores the exhibit’s local stories and displays, while Part Two covers the broader historical context and upcoming Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall.Local stories once found only in newspaper archives are now brought together at the Excelsior Springs Museum & Archives, where volunteers hope to ensure the people who served during the Vietnam War era are not forgotten.“Not Forgotten,” is now on display at the museum through 2027, combining newspaper research, yearbook photographs and community-donated artifacts to tell the story of the Vietnam War era through local experiences.
