Oats Transit offers shared ride service
COLUMBIA – Oats Transit, a shared-ride, public transportation company, offers service to people of all ages.
“We offer transportation in 87 Missouri counties. Depending on the county, we offer either door-to-door service or have pick-up points along the way,” Oats information states. “We also contract with a number of agencies to provide service to their clients. Our drivers will take you to medical appointments, shopping, work or other errands you need to run.”
To schedule a ride in Clay County, call 800-480-6287. Rides must be scheduled 24-48 hours in advance. Buses are accessible to people with mobility devices.
The full schedule for each area is available by clicking “bus schedules” at www.oatstransit.org. Schedules vary in each county, depending on available local funding sources to cover the service. Fares may apply and masks are required on the bus.
“Our drivers are friendly, professional and experienced. We only hire courteous and responsible drivers who have been trained to handle your needs. We are working around the clock to make sure transit offers a safe way to get around. Drivers are routinely cleaning the buses throughout the day to ensure a safe ride,” Oats information states. “Oats Transit serves anyone of any age in rural Missouri, but is limited to seniors and individuals with disabilities in urban areas.”
