The Orrick Lions Club is marking a major milestone this year – celebrating 75 years of dedicated service to the local community.Founded by a group of businesspeople and farmers on Oct. 17, 1950, the club has played an integral role in Orrick’s development. As part of Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service organization, the Orrick Lions continue to live by their motto: “We Serve.”Over the years, the club has been involved in a variety of community projects. One of the most significant moments in the club’s history came in 2014 when a tornado devastated Orrick. Thanks to a $10,000 grant from the Lions Club International Foundation, the club was able to provide necessities and essential resources to residents affected by the disaster.
