EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – The Payne Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast plans to add rooms after reporting a successful year. Jailhouse hostess Anna Sue Spohn said there has been an uptick in business this past year. “People wanted a more intimate stay than a hotel. It took our bed and breakfast to a new level,” Spohn said. Spohn and her husband plan to move off the property this fall to expand the bed and breakfast. “We are making some changes to serve up to four more guests in the master suite,” she said. “The living space will be open to all guests for a common area to relax, play games and watch TV.” Before opening the Payne Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast in 2016, Spohn said owning a bed and breakfast had been a dream for 20 years. “We wanted to move to the downtown area and make a difference in the landscape,” she said. “There was a need for overnight accommodations in our area with the wineries, parks and tourism that was beginning to take place.” The Payne Jailhouse Bed and Breakfast offers a…
