Pisgah packs give-away bags with supplies for school year

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS – A church packed bags of school supplies to give to families for the coming school year. Beginning in 2020, COVID-19 put many families in financial distress as lockdowns began and layoffs ensued. In response, Pisgah Baptist Church decided to help Excelsior Springs families by providing free school supplies. Pisgah Childrens Ministry Director Meghan Frick said she noticed the tension many families felt. “Last year, COVID-19 put a strain on many families and I was trying to think of a few ways that we could help,” Frick said. While brainstorming ideas, church members decided to give away school supplies, Frick said. “This was a way to help kids get back into school,” she said.
