RCSO honors Sgt. Perkins
The Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) has proudly maintained the tradition of honoring its fallen deputies.On October 23, 2020, a formal proclamation was issued, designating this significant day as Law Enforcement Day in memory of Sergeant Jeffery Perkins. This day serves to recognize not only Perkins but also to commemorate the dedication and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers, both past and present.Perkins dedicated seven years of his life to RCSO before his untimely passing at the age of 32.Perkins’s death was not related to law enforcement and he unexpectedly passed away from medical issues at North Kansas City Hospital, surrounded by his family.In a heartfelt gesture last week, RCSO invited Perkins’s wife Melissa and family to the sheriff’s office for a solemn ceremony in his honor.
