Redistricting changes some ES voting locations
Polling places are changing once again in Excelsior Springs.
The primaries will have some residents voting in new locations on Aug. 2.
“Due to redistricting, your precinct, polling location and representatives may have changed,” states the Clay County Board of Election Commissioner’s website.
Fishing River 1 residents will vote at The Montgomery Event Venue, 425 S. Thompson Ave. Fishing River 2 residents will return to Flack Memorial Church, 1300 Tracy Ave. Washington 1 and Washington 2 voters will vote at the Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, 1500 Rosalea St.
The website states that voters will receive a new voter ID card in the mail between the end of June and the beginning of July. The card will indicate precinct and polling location, based on the recipient’s home address.
Polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Aug. 2.
Those who are at least 17-1/2 years old and will be 18 on Aug. 2 are eligible to register to vote.
The last day to register to vote is July 6.
