Rockin’ Tiger Club duties, location changed
The Excelsior Springs School District is making duty and location changes to its Rockin’ Tiger Club, Heather Gross announced when the Board of Education convened July 11 at the Support Services Center.
Vicki Goetz, director and founder of the Rockin’ Tiger Club retired at the end of June after more than 35 years of serving Excelsior students and parents.
The tasks Goetz performed will now be divvied “among three roles that we have in the district,” said Gross, assistant superintendent and head of student services. Those roles are the Rockin’ Tiger Club program coordinator, and the Early Childhood Center (ECC) secretary and principal, she said.
Katherine Andreasen, ECC principal, will handle such tasks as hiring and evaluating personnel, Gross said.
“Really, the heavy part for her will be the partnerships with the many agencies that we utilize with Rockin’ Tiger Club – the (Missouri) Department of Social Services, also our Family Care (Safety) Registry reporting, those sorts of things,” she said.
Baylee Hightower, ECC secretary, will handle such tasks as budgeting and bookkeeping, according to Gross.
“And then, of course, … some of the normal things a building secretary does, she’ll do some of those things for Rockin’ Tiger Club employees as well – and students in the enrollment process,” she said.
The program director’s duties will include “some communication pieces working with families” and some tasks concerning the Family Care Safety Registry, Gross said.
Effective Aug. 1, the Rockin’ Tiger Club will be ECC-based, rather than elementary school-based, Gross said.
“It should be a pretty easy transition,” she said.
