Second warrant issued for man charged with drug trafficking
An Excelsior Springs man has been arrested after a bench warrant was issued for violating his conditions of release.
While facing one felony charge of second-degree trafficking drugs, Gary W. Gillispie II, 39, allegedly violated his bond release conditions and was issued a bench warrant with a bond of $150,000 cash or surety from Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge Shane T. Alexander.
This marks the second time Alexander has had to issue a warrant for Gillispie due to his failure to adhere to his release conditions.
Previously, Gillispie had been released on his own recognizance to be entered into an in-patient program at Heartland Center for Behavioral Change, but on March 13, Northland Dependency Services reported a bond condition violation and a warrant was issued.
For the March warrant, Alexander heard Gillispie’s explanation and recalled the warrant, reinstating his former bond.
