A former Excelsior Springs resident has been committed to the Missouri Department of Mental Health after Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s Sexually Violent Predator Unit (SVP) was successful in its efforts. Harry Richardson, 47, was committed after a one-day Ray County Court bench trial, where the judge found him to be a sexually violent predator. “As Attorney General, my first priority is to protect all six million Missourians, especially from sexually violent predators who seek to harm our most vulnerable,” said Bailey. “Offenders exhibiting a probability of committing more predatory acts of sexual violence must be removed from the streets and given the treatment they need.
