After years of focused effort and agency- wide reform, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) has earned national accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). This recognition affirms the office’s commitment to best practices, public accountability and professional excellence.The award was officially granted on March 22 at CALEA’s spring conference in Garden Grove, Cali., where Clay County Sheriff Will Akin and members of the Accreditation Unit appeared before the organization’s 21-member Board of Commissioners.
