The Silver Senior Prom Committee, in partnership with the Excelsior Springs High School Student Council, reveals details about their upcoming spring dance for those 55 and older, set for May 4. The prom, an idea cultivated by the Aging Well Task Force, will be hosted by the Excelsior Springs High School Student Council (STUCO) while utilizing connections throughout the community. Laura Mize, neighborhood specialist, explained the event is primarily in part to STUCO, as the task force Is just supporting them. “One thing the student council has tried to do is help with our community,” said STUCO member Addison Rubey, “I believe that we are the future, and we want to give back to Excelsior Springs to continue to make it a better place.” Others in the community involved with the task force, including Mize, are using their expertise and leadership skills to help guide the prom with their resources.
